Intrepid Society BBQ October 2025
On 2 October 2025, the Intrepid Society held its final BBQ of the summer with 17 attendees. The lunch comprised smokies or hot dogs, pasta salad, soft drinks and a scrumptious dessert. Speaker Don Finkbeiner spoke about his 2018 visit to Golden Eye, originally Ian Fleming’s estate, situated east of Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Charles Cameron talked about where Fleming’s James Bond character name originated. He was named after American ornithologist James Bond.
Many thanks to Lois Mallett for hosting most of the BBQs this summer. She is prepared to host again next summer. Thanks to Dwight MacAulay as well for his yeoman service in performing the BBQ duties.
