DESCRIPTION:On 25 June 26, IS Board member Lois Mallet hosted another Intrepid Society BBQ for 15 IS members. The BBQ included smokies, hot dogs, potato salad, soft drinks and dessert. Board member Charles Cameron, shown consuming some apple crumble, read a poem he had created as a tribute to Lois for her generosity in hosting many BBQ events.\n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nA Lady named Lois\nby Charles Cameron\nThere lives a Lady, warm and true,\nWith kindness shining through and through.\nHer smile can brighten any day,\nAnd chase the darkest clouds away.\nWith Irish songs both proud and sweet,\nShe fills the air with joy complete.\nEach note she sings, both bold and clear,\nBrings laughter, friendship, and good cheer.\nEach Month, she opens wide her door,\nTo welcome friends forevermore.\nA barbecue, a hearty meal,\nWhere every guest feels warmth that’s real.\nThe Winnipeg Intrepid knows\nThe strength and grace that Lois shows.\nA faithful Director, loyal and wise,\nA treasured friend in every eye.\nAt Robert Burns, she’s held in high esteem,\nA valued member of the Team.\nThe Royal Military Institute, too,\nIs richer for the work she’ll do.\nShe asks for little, gives so much,\nWith generous heart, and gentle touch.\nHer friendship is a precious art —\nA gift that warms each grateful heart.\nSo here’s to Lois, kind and fair,\nWhose love of people fills the air.\nMay health and happiness be her way,\nWith blessings growing every day.\nFor those who’ve met her all agree–\nAs wonderful a soul as one could see.\nA lady rare, both strong and true,\nDear Lois, we are grateful for you.\n
